ok, what’s the deal with this?

Hello, my friends!

Let’s just jump right in. I’m sure that you are wondering why this cooking blog has so much wine on it. Great question. The answer is because wine is delicious. Honestly, is any further rationale needed?

I decided to make this blog because I was discussing with my family what I would do if money was no object. Without hesitation, my immediate answer is that I would sample pasta from every possible country and drink copious amounts of wine. I would just waste my days away on carbs and booze and it would be a short and fabulous life of absolute luxury. But lucky for you all, I am not rich- so here I am trying to bring you budget pairings that realistically won’t be nearly as good as lounging on the French Riviera shoveling down pasta and hammering fine French wines, but hey- we do what we can.

My goal with this blog is to keep things simple for you because Lord knows that you don’t care about a 12 paragraph intro to each recipe. Instead, I will save us both some time and just get right to what the people want. And that is good food, good wine, and very little rambling commentary. I’ll hit you with the quick and dirty version of each recipe so that you can get the information that you need with minimal scrolling.

On each post I will give with a realistic recipe that you could serve up on a Tuesday night. Not only will it be a recipe that you will look forward to eating all day long, but I will do you one better and also provide a wine pairing for each recipe. You can take or leave the pairing, but I am telling you that you should definitely take them. If your family starts gives you crap about how much wine you’re drinking, just say it is in the name of culture and fine dining. That rationale typically works for me.

I try to keep all of my wine parings in a very affordable range, because as I earlier mentioned, I am not rich (hence why I am not on the French Riviera with my pastas and wines.) I also try to give you parings that you can realistically find at your average grocery/wine store such as Aldi, Trader Joes, or Total Wine. However, if you are way out in the boondocks and cannot find the specific wine that I recommend, I will also provide some general guidelines of varietals and tasting notes to lo0k for so that you can make do with whatever ya got.

I hope that you all have as much fun making and eating my pairings as I have creating them!

Cheers!
